Hi! My name is Aubrey Swab and I am a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh Oakland pursuing a BSN at the School of Nursing. I am originally from Middletown, Delaware, and spent some time abroad in Hong Kong in middle school before returning home to Delaware for high school. On campus, I am involved in a few organizations such as Pink Warriors which is a breast cancer awareness club and Nursing Student Association. I am also a member of Delta Delta Delta, a social sorority on campus. When I’m not in class or studying, I like to shop around the Strip District, find new cafes, cozy up with a good show, and hang out with friends.

I am most excited to see the culture of the U.K. and to compare the social norms with what we experience in America. I am also very excited to see how the healthcare system works and understand the differences between our methodology and theirs. I am grateful for the opportunity to meet nursing students at their university as well as other new people to expand my perspective. Being able to experience this with a small group of students from Pittsburgh also helps to foster strong interpersonal relationships and form friendships that I will cherish for years to come which also gives me something to look forward to. I am greatly looking forward to this experience!
