My name is Michael Murphy. I am a first year in the Swanson School of Engineering and in the Frederick Honors College. I plan to study Biomedical Engineering at Pitt. Biology has always been my favorite science, and I want to do something good for the world and help people, so I felt as though bioengineering was the right fit for me.
I am incredibly excited to participate in the Plus3 Costa Rica this summer. I chose Costa Rica as I love the outdoors and going on hikes. I knew I would enjoy the activities and culture. I am incredibly excited to dive into the Costa Rican culture and meet new people and my host family. I can’t wait to hike through the Cloud Forest and relax at the beach and hot springs. I look forward to trying all of the fresh fruits and learning about the agriculture in Costa Rica.
I look forward to visiting many agricultural companies in Costa Rica and seeing the many farms and how the process of the supply chain and bringing fruits from farm to market. I hope to grow my knowledge in the agricultural and business fields and build global connections during my time in Costa Rica. I truly can’t wait for the trip and to get to know everyone better.
