Day 3: Experience Yogurt and Elevators With Me

Today was such a full and memorable day. I started off with a really good breakfast with eggs, kimchi fried rice, and toast. Our first visit was to HY/Fredit, the famous probiotic yogurt company. I had no idea how much effort and detail goes into making those little bottles—it gave me a whole new appreciation for something I used to just grab out of the fridge without thinking. Our tour guide was incredibly kind and patient, answering all our questions. We even got to try out a VR experience to learn how probiotics work in the body, which was way cooler than I expected. Before we left, the employees gave us the sweetest gift bags.

After that, we had lunch at a restaurant known for its tofu, and wow—it did not disappoint. Everything was delicious, but the standout for me was the radish kimchi and the prawns in the broth. Then, to top it all off, Dr. Yun surprised us with ice cream, which was such a thoughtful and much appreciated treat. We spent the afternoon at the company TK Elevator, where we got a deeper look into just how massive and global the company is. It was cool to realize how something like elevators—which I totally take for granted—are actually so complex and innovative.

TK Elevator wasn’t just informative, though—it was fun too. We played ping pong, golf, and pool, and even had a mini photo shoot with their display elevators. Definitely didn’t expect that! We wrapped up with a factory tour where we got to see the different production lines in action, and it was genuinely fascinating. I feel like I learned so much today, and also just had a great time.
