Delayed… Not Defeated, Finally Here

on

My arrival to Greece was delayed sharply when me and 4 other students got the news that we would be withdrawn from our original flight at 1:55pm, and instead placed upon the 8:30pm flight. This 6.5 hour delay, while discouraging, did not manage to kill me and my classmates excitement, or even put a dent in our first full day in Athens! We toured the University of Nicosia Athens branch campus and I was blown away by what Mr. Polemitis and his team have been able to do in such a short time. As he walked us around the campus he gave us insights on the reasoning behind the layout and it really highlighted something for me. The school was only cleared to begin construction in late 2024 and managed to completely redesign and rebuild the old airport data center into one of the most impressive technologically advanced college’s I have had the ability to tour. He highlighted that construction only took around 7 months to complete, and while the building is still not completely finished it was able to host its first class of students this year! I was inspired by Mr. Polemitis’ drive to complete such an ambitious project and how even after completing this he still is looking forward to the next step, the expansion of the campus into the new Hellinikon project. His motivation will stick with me for years to come.

Plus the Food was so good!
