Today, we visited the company working on the Ellinikon, Lambda Development. We first learned about Building Information Modelling, or BIM, and Geographic Information Systems, GIS, which are used to allow different contributors to the project to share data. This technology is integral to the project because of how large of a scale it is on, so that everyone can visualize the same data. This improves accuracy and saves time in development. We then talked with Tasos Papapostolou, a project manager with Lambda development, who gave us more details on development, his day-to-day work, and the importance of time in a project as huge as Ellinikon. Our visit to Lambda was intriguing to me as a future engineer because it really showed how many different parts go into projects like Ellinikon and the level of organization needed for the project to run smoothly.

In addition to our visit with Lambda, we also had a walking tour of central Athens in the morning, and it was amazing to see all of the different parts of Athens (and all the cats)!

Finally, we visited the National Archeological Museum, where we learned about different eras of Greece, from the Cycladic civilizations to the end of Antiquity.
