After a full week in Athens, I’d say my favorite outings both happened on Friday. Before the museum visit that I described in yesterday’s blog, the group had some free time, so Toni, Natalie, Opal, and I went to Monastiraki Square to buy some souvenirs and gifts.
Because we ended up spending a little too much time looking around, we realized we needed a quick meal to make it to our museum tour on time. Luckily, we found a street food vendor selling very good minced meat pies, so we hastily bought our food and headed to the National Garden to enjoy our meal. The food and the environment were amazing, and we chose a bench next to a pond to sit by.
After the museum tour, we took a trip to the top of Mount Lycabettus on the incline railway for some beautiful views of the city and finished the night with dinner in Plaka.
