Gyeongju and Pohang: Day 7

on

This day will be quite short as all we really did was travel. Once we left the Buddhist temple, we had extra time, so we went out for lunch. I had a very tasty Tofu Soup and tried Pepsi in Korea. To be honest, everything is just slightly more carbonated than in America. After this, we still had lots of time before checking in at Pohang, so we went to the ancient tombs of the kings. Originally, Koreans just thought the hills were hills, but about 60 years ago figured out they were actually famous tombs. So, we were able to go inside one of the king’s tombs and see exactly how ancient Koreans built the structures. After this, we were set loose in the Gyeongju market, which heavily reminded me of Pittsburgh’s strip district. After getting probably the final gift for my girlfriend, seeing some weird items to purchase, and meeting up with the Teletubbies (I have no clue why they are here), we headed back to the bus and went to Pohang. Looking out the window was quite beautiful as Pohang is a harbor town, so I could see out into the water. Once checked in, a group of us went to Outback Steakhouse (sadly) as they missed American food. Naturally, as I don’t like steak, I got a baked potato and an amazing brownie ice cream dessert. Finally, after all of this, we decided we all wanted to go out for karaoke. So, we did. And it was amazing!!!! Now I am doing laundry so I can start officially packing my suitcase and to get it out of the way. Tomorrow we will be visiting a university, and then we all want to go to the pier and beach in our free time. Hopefully I can swim! Till tomorrow, goodnight! I am so exhausted.
