Timeless moments aren’t made selfishly

While we were in Nafplio today, we were given some free time after sightseeing around the town and its churches. While some folks opted for a bit of shopping or a snack, we, in our little group, chose to hike up the mountain and admire some stunning sights. Although the journey was tough, one crucial aspect is that we never abandoned each other but made sure that we kept the whole group together throughout the process. In hindsight, I could only realize how true it is that reaching the peak of the mountain first might be considered a great achievement, but when there’s no one else at the peak, such a feat loses its meaning. It would be exciting, but at the same time, it would be lonely for me to rush up the mountain by myself. Ironically, the fact that the peak was a prison in the

past only adds another dimension to my reflection.

Similarly, in Epidaurus we got to witness the ancient theater, which by itself is a massive and impressive structure. However, on its own it is still just a building. What gives it true significance is the soul it carries through the people and history connected to it, from the locals to the countless visitors who have shared experiences there over time. This idea is reinforced by the fact that at one point the theater was covered in bushes and vegetation and slowly fading away, but with the help of people it was restored and allowed timeless moments to continue being created. If there is one thing I will remember from this day, it is that timeless moments are not made selfishly.
