Today was another amazing day in Bilbao! We started off in the engineering school with a presentation about the Spanish healthcare system. We learned about all types of appointments that Saioa has while pregnant. These appointments are free for all pregnant women. Also, both parents get 19 weeks off of maternity/paternity leave! Next, we learned about the Esku-Bilbot team and their prosthetic hand project! It was interesting to see how they can use sensors to make the hand move. Next, we learned about the music lab. They made guitars, drums, keyboards, and more! We even got to watch performances from Meli, Jonathon, and Dr. Abramowitch!
Next, we had an end of trip meeting. It was fun to reflect on our adventures and what we learned! Then, it was time for our last lunch in the engineering school! I had rice, chicken, and fruit! Then, we headed to Getxo to visit the hanging bridge! It was super high up, so the views were gorgeous! At the top of the bridge, we walked the whole way across, scared our phones would fall through. Luckily, nothing was lost! After the hanging bridge, we went to a local cafe. It was nice to have one last team-bonding activity before heading home.
Finally, we took the metro to the farewell dinner on the beach. It was very windy and rainy, but the views were spectacular nonetheless! I had a burger and a brownie, which were both absolutely delicious! We took the bus back to the hotel one last time while singing karaoke. Of course, we had to sing Sweet Caroline! It was a wonderful last day in Spain, and an amazing trip that I will always remember! I am so thankful for the people I have met and the experiences I have had on this amazing trip!
