As I stood in the ridiculously long immigration line in the Quito airport, I had time to reflect on our action-packed trip. Everything I learned, accomplished, and experienced in such a short amount of time cannot be explained in words – thus explaining why this “reflection” blog will be a short one.

Talking with our group about our time in Quito, Otavalo, and the Amazon – I realized that there wasn’t a singular “favorite” part of the trip. Every moment was unique in its own way, and I can only encourage any potential students looking at this trip to just experience it for themselves. Not just for the chocolate, but also for the refreshing beverages the lodge provided us; and most importantly, the cultural exchange I think we all learned the most from. The knowledge I now have cannot be absorbed from lecture, but only from experience.
